Hey Bookish Boo!
βChaser releases this week (Thursday) and you made me cry. And I am so grateful.
See, last year when I released Heartbeat I had no idea whether anyone would dig the book as much as I did. I wasn't sure anyone would join my newsletter or give a darn about what I was doing on social media. I also worried if I could finish a second book. Sometimes when the first book is successful you get bogged down by what you think about others' expectation for the next book.
The reality is, you loved Heartbeat as much as I did. You've followed my journey and random shenanigans on social media and here in my newsletter and you have embraced Chaser before reading a single word.
I set a goal for pre-orders of this book - twice as many pre-orders for Chaser over what I received for Heartbeat and I am so proud to say I'm 1 pre-order away from that goal.
Your first book is where friends and family comes out big in support. They may never crack it open, but they'll buy the book. The second book is where readers show up. If they liked the first book, they will show up for the second. You, friend, showed up for my second and that makes me boo hoo like a wee babe.
This weekend I uploaded Chaser files and sent it to publish. Then I realized I uploaded the file for advance review readers. The unproofed file. I ran to upload the correct one, but Amazon locks your files for three days to "prepare it" for publishing. After some chats with their reps I learned I can upload the correct file once its published, tell them and they will send everyone an email to update their files to get the correct one. This announcement also lets everyone know I screwed up π€£π³. I've been working on giving myself grace, I still struggle with it and am super embarrassed, but I will live.
So when you get your pre-ordered or KU copy, if it says ARC READER in the chapter list you need to update your file. The bad file has a missing paragraph and almost zero proofreading. I want you to have a better experience.
On a positive note, I took a brief video of my 'end of writing' ritual, soon I'll be doing it all over again for Selene and Fox for Fingertips.
Don't forget the discounted books from fellow author friends listed below! Have a great week!
Hugs and Cheers,
I'm her newest captive.
β
A caged prize fighter.
β
A plaything in the middle of her search for her father's killer.
β
But the longer I remain her prisoner, the more I want the dark sins she's offering.
β
The more I need them.
β
And when this ruthless, organized crime queen finally lets me dominate her?
β
I'll be unleashing everything I have to keep her safe from those who want her dead.

Bestselling Romance Author and Freelance Journalist Terreece M. Clarke writes diverse stories for today's readers.
Hey Bookish Boo! There is always a lot of conversation among readers about cringey words we romance authors use in our books. The conversation mostly revolves around π vs π, but some influencers have whole lists of words they don't want to see π€£. I know it frustrates some authors, but mostly I just laugh because honestly, if we stopped using the all suggested words our books would be blank LOL! I don't have words that make me cringe but I get eye twitchy at words used incorrectly in books....
Hey Bookish Boo! What are your favorite love songs? If you're read any of my books you know I love a playlist. Sometimes a song will inspire a whole scene, sometimes I scroll endlessly through music looking for the right song that goes with a particular moment. For Heartbeat, "Creep" by Radiohead became the theme song for the villain of the story, if Griffin appeared in a scene that scene was annotated with a cover of "Creep" that fit the mood. With Fingertips I heard Beyonce's song...
Hey Bookish Boo! I've been busy with my training for my husband's home dialysis and in between machine beeps and manuals I saw a post on social media from a romance reader that wished romance novels didn't always have happy endings. And not the smutty kind.π She said "because life doesn't always have a happy ending." *Terreece slides into frame dragging a large, ceremonial soap box up a large hill. Climbs on top, clears throat.* "ROMANCE NOVELS MUST HAVE A HAPPY ENDING OR THEY ARE NOT ROMANCE...
