We had a time last night...

Hey Bookish Boo!

This weekend I had the immense pleasure of appearing at the Ohioana Book Festival! It was the first major signing I've done for Heartbeat (and Love Never) and it was so much FUN! Mind you I'm an extroverted introvert and I totally burned through my peopling meter minutes, but it was worth it. I am so grateful for the opportunity. I got some great ideas on promotion and met a ton of readers and authors. Check out a quick vid:

In other news, you still have time to vote Heartbeat for Best Interracial Book by a Black Author for the It's Lit! Literary Book Awards. You may have to log into your gmail to have your vote recorded.

Last week I shared a sneak peek of the Chaser playlist from Shayla's perspective. Today I'm sharing more of the list from Xavier's perspective, the man who fell first and fell hard.

Hugs and Cheers,

This Week's Featured Reads:

Roger Blythe has a reputation for being here today and gone tomorrow.

That's fine with Corinne Walker, until he decides to take their relationship to the next level. Corinne's cycle of dating men who have no chance of touching her heart has kept her sane over the years.

Roger's turnaround unsettles her, because just when she considers changing the way she lives, his secret life threatens to destroy everything they're building together.

When her past and future collide, Corinne has two choices. Run away from what could be a repeat of the devastation that has gone before, or stay and fight for what her heart says is right for her.

Hey Bookish Boo! This has been a week and I debated whether to bring any of that into the newsletter this week, but ultimately I am an advocate, a Black woman and a journalist. All of that comes with me to my work, to the books you love. So are book political? Is there room in the bookish space online for politics? In short. Yes. Let me explain briefly before you roll your eyes and scroll down to the freebie romance books. Every time you pick up a book that centers women, women's pleasure,...

Hey Bookish Boo! I missed you. It's been a minute in a half since we last connected, but I am so glad to see you! Let's see... what happened that I didn't get a chance to tell you... I got to hang out with one of my favorite authors - Tiffany Patterson THE Tiffany Patterson, creator of the Townsends of Williamsport and the Black Burlesque series! She invited me, ME, little ol' me to do a TikTok live where we talked about books, the book community, and our writing habits etc. It was AWESOME! I...

Hey Bookish Boo! It's been a week since Chaser dropped and I want to thank you all for your support. The book is doing great, the feedback has been awesome and the reviews are coming in. Which reminds me, if you haven't left a review for Chaser, please consider doing so soon. Traditionally when you hit 50 reviews, Amazon puts some respect on your name and supports your book more with their system. I'm at 32 reviews now so we are almost there! I've gotten some rad social media posts talking...
